We are a group of seven boys, from Newmarket, Romania. We are in the 6th form at “Liviu Rebreanu” Gymnasium. Our names’ are:

We took some legends about the great, even-handed Matthias King.
The Corvinus name was given to Matthias after the family coat-of-arms, which represents a raven with a ring in its beak.
There are a lot of legends and theories about the the symbols:
-one of them could be: the story, when Matthias King was hunting, he took off his ring from his finger and it was stolen by a raven, Matthias followed it and took back his ring.
-the other: while Matthias was imprisoned in Praga, his mother sent him letters by a raven
-or another (more scientifical-after Romanian sources): that Matthias’s grandfather had an estate which was called Raven’s Stone (in Hungarian :Hollo Kove,in Romanian Piatra Corbului)
Between the symbols there are some other countries’ symbols, too because Matthias was not only Hungarian King, he was an associate king of Czechia, too. And he was the Duke of Austria from 1486.
